About the changelog

Every Deadlock update in one place: Valve's patch notes when there are any, and next to them what changed in the game's files, including the updates that came with no notes.

What each update shows

  • Patch notes. Valve's own post for the update, with the heroes and items it mentions.
  • Game files. The game's data files (heroes, abilities, items, NPCs and more) compared line by line with the build before, every changed value with the setting it belongs to. Each line has its own link to share.
  • Map changes. What changed on the map: walls, floors and edges you move along, things that only look different, and the game's own objects like crates, camps and ziplines. Each change has before and after pictures, and the newest map updates also open in the 3D map.

How it's made

A machine checks Steam for a new Deadlock build every 30 minutes. When there is one, it downloads the files that changed, compares them with the build before and puts the result here, usually within about an hour. Nothing is typed in by hand: the names are the game's own, so a setting is shown as the game calls it (like m_vecBuyTime) when the files do not say more.

Good to know

  • Build numbers are the game's own (ClientVersion); Valve skips some, so a gap between two numbers is not a missed update.
  • The live 3D view is kept for the newest map updates and about one build a month; older updates keep their pictures and lists.
  • This site is made by Frogtech and is not affiliated with Valve.
